Jamil is the first son of MD Abubakar, with three other siblings a boy followed by a girl and then a boy who is their last born. H was born in Gusau, Zamfara state but grew up in Lagos till he was 16/17 before he left the country. He speak Hausa,but his preferred language is Igbo. He understand little Spanish, French, and Yoruba. He is a stay home person, He like to be in the house because he don't like rowdy places and too much noise. But don't get him wrong he go out and like to engage in social activities, He have a lot of hobbies such as: badminton, soccer, jet skiing, scuba diving,
para sailing, sky diving, etc. He is a fan and lover of fast bikes and cars, He use to have a few bikes from the Yamaha Genesis to the Yamaha R1 but that was back in the days ever since he started flying he chose to stick to cars instead. He attended Home Science Primary School, Ruxton road, Ikoyi Lagos. From then on he went to Nigerian Military School Zaria Kaduna.
At age 16/17 he left for the UK and attended Enfield college London and studied Business Information Technology for his A levels. Before moving on to Kingston university London to attain a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computing Information Systems and Multimedia. After that he went on to USA to study or start my flying career. I went to Epic Aviation in New Symrna Beach Florida to get his initials in flying which are Private Pilot license (PPL), Instrument (IR), and Commercial Pilot License (CPL). After that he went to Orlando and Miami beach respectively to do his initial type rating on the Boeing 737-NG (600,700,800,900 & BBJ) before he came back to Nigeria in Sep 2011. Then Capt. Jamil MD Abubakar went straight ahead to get his type rating on the Fokker 100.
